Our BeyondEye values
Our practice in beautiful Cologne-Bayenthal was reopened in 2022. The practice now reflects our philosophy and our actions on the outside. Modern, inviting and anything but a cold medical practice. With cosy furniture, lots of green plants and relaxing background music, a visit to the doctor at BeyondEye no longer feels like a visit at all. Our in-house operating theatre is also located right next to the practice. This is where we primarily treat cataracts and carry out IVOMs, a macular treatment.
You as a patient are our top priority. Because eye health is a matter close to our hearts. We want you to feel comfortable, in good hands and, above all, well treated. That's why we at BeyondEye emphasise highly trained practice staff, a pleasant environment and top treatment. So you can be sure: With us, you and your eyes are in the best hands - because:
Standing still is the greatest enemy of medicine. Even though we are highly trained doctors and orthoptists, we want to keep up with the times. That's why we not only regularly take part in further training courses, but are also part of the innovation process ourselves. As BeyondEye, we conduct studies ourselves, for example on therapy with VR glasses. This means that we can not only examine and treat you according to the latest standards, but also offer you the latest treatment techniques.
We - who is that actually?
The centre and heart of BeyondEye is Doctor-medic Roxana Fulga. She is the founder of the practice:
„The fact that I became an ophthalmologist is fate. I met the right people in the right place at the right time, who awakened my passion for ophthalmology and opened doors for me. That was the best thing that could have happened to me. Founding BeyondEye was a labour of love, and my daughters in particular motivated me."
With this attitude, Doctor-medic Fulga has built up a practice team around her that shares and passes on her approach to ophthalmology. Alongside her, Doctor-medic Andreea Daniela Vrancea is there for you as an ophthalmologist. You will also be treated by our orthoptists Stella Krüger, Frauke Decrouppé, Simona Pizzicotti-Münch and Yvonne Mauritz.

At BeyondEye, you will not be referred to an external clinic. Our outpatient surgery centre in Cologne specialises in eye surgery and combines state-of-the-art medicine with personal care in a calm atmosphere.
This is how an operation day at BeyondEye works
Structured, secure and personalised support
Many patients want to know what to expect before an operation. This is exactly what our outpatient surgery centre is designed for: with clear procedures, fixed contact persons and a team that accompanies each step calmly and comprehensibly.
As soon as you arrive, you will not experience an anonymous clinic structure, but a friendly, organised environment. After the reception, there is time to settle in and prepare for the day of treatment.
Before the operation, speak to the Anaesthetists, who will coordinate the appropriate anaesthetic procedure with you. All important questions regarding the procedure, effects, safety and possible risks will be discussed. The aim is for you to feel well prepared and safe.
Our operating theatre team will then take over the preparations. You will be dressed in sterile gowns, accompanied and taken to the operating theatre. Many patients find the operation much more relaxed afterwards than they had expected.

The operation itself is performed at BeyondEye by Doctor medic Roxana Fulga and her experienced team. The high level of routine, clear processes and modern technical equipment create an environment in which safety and precision take centre stage.
The images on this page show an example of the process using a Cataract treatment, because all steps are particularly easy to follow here. At the same time, our outpatient surgery centre is also available for other eye procedures and surgical treatments.
For our patients, this means that there is no separation between consultation, surgery and aftercare, but rather a Integrated treatment concept from a single source.
Well cared for after the operation
For us, aftercare is part of the treatment
We remain at your side even after the operation. After the operation, you can recover in a peaceful atmosphere and continue to be looked after. For many people, this part is particularly valuable: knowing that it's not just „over" after the treatment, but that someone is still there.
If you cannot or do not wish to drive home yourself on the day of the operation, BeyondEye will organise the in-house transport service. This means that the journey home is also part of a safe and well-accompanied treatment day.

Meral Köster is responsible for the management and coordination of the operating theatre at BeyondEye. Her areas of specialisation are refractive surgery, the Cataract surgery and in professional operating theatre management. In her role, she organises surgical procedures, coordinates the surgical team and supports collaboration with external surgeons.
